Dorling Kindersley wanted to promote their brand new digital product for travel, the ‘DK Trip Planner’ to a wider audience. What mattered to them most was increasing their likes on Facebook, quality data capture for brand use and increasing audience reach while driving more web traffic to the new DK Trip Planner website from social sources.

They conceived, implemented and managed a Facebook competition app to help launch our DK Trip Planner website. We created, designed and built a bespoke Facebook application on the DK Travel page to quickly increase page likes from prospective customers, which featured a quiz mechanic to discover what kind of traveller entrants were. Key messages prompted entrants to like the page and enter the prize draw by taking the quiz and submitting their email addresses.
Using a simple entry mechanic to encourage participation, users were educated about the DK Trip Planner webpage. We created a share pop-up which was integrated throughout the App to drive shares and viral growth.
During the promotion the campaign was supported with outreach to relevant blogs and community forums. We researched, sourced and approached relevant influential travel bloggers offering them an exclusive early viewing of the DK Trip Planner to review and link back to, which subsequently built lasting relationships with 15+ relevant travel bloggers for future campaign outreach and activity.
