Last week marked the end of Walkers’ latest promo as part of their Do Us A Flavour campaign – the incredible tweet activated vending machine, which we’ve just named our Campaign of the Week!
Filled with crisps and set into three busy bus stops in London where it looked like any other bill board, the amazing invention distributed free packets of the finalist flavours (including Sizzling Steak Fajita and Ranch Raccoon) in exchange for a @Walkers_busstop tweet.
This isn’t the first time a brand’s made use of this technology though. Earlier in the year, Cadbury’s tried out a Facebook vending machine in Australia. While the Walkers’ machine gathered info on what flavour crisps were most appealing, the Cadbury’s machine was actually designed to select the bar it thought the consumer would enjoy the most.
We can’t wait to see what’s next for the Twitter / Facebook vending machine! Reckon we’ll see them being rolled out far and wide…?
